Anyway *** SPOILER ALERT***
When I look at the episodes before Playing For Keeps, WWH, FFFT, AND OBDOBD, I see a hesitant Amanda. She seems to sort of move away from Lee's advances, or hide her own responses, or even stay platonic. I never get the feeling that she is letting herself fall into love. After PFK and PE Amanda seems to be a lot more open emotionally to Lee and so I tried to figure out when and why it changed. That tag was a point where I saw a change, even at the beginning of PFK Amanda was not open, I think that was why she said what she did about Francine going, I think she was still a little suspicious of Lee. I think even his silly pot pourri line spoke to Amanda's heart, he was trying to speak to the All American Housewife there, he was a bit clumsy with it, but I think Amanda got it. OK, I will stop now. Don't tempt me to think about things, I can barely control my urges to rush ahead on the blog, here at Ned's I may not be able to stop....

Khell, Fast Food For Thought has a special place for me also. It was my introduction to SMK. I was channel surfing past the motorcycle chase and then came back to the freezer scene. I was hooked! I didn't see too many episodes in the 80's. I only got to see the show from the beginning when it was on Slash Control in 2009 or 10.
As a result of first seeing Francine's vulnerable side in FFFT, I was more forgiving of her behavior in the earlier seasons. I see Francine as being just as fragile as Lee in relationships. Her parents expectations for her were extremely high. Jonathan didn't help her feeling of self worth. So we see a hard as nails professional. On the positive side she is very loyal. Even if she is jealous of Amanda, she does give her credit in Spiderweb and Over the Limit. She believes in Lee and Amanda in Stemwinder II. Her concern that Lee would break Amanda heart was genuine. So, yeah, I do like Francine.

I rewatched the PFK tag, for research purposes. And what I see is that Lee isn't posturing or being flirtatious with her (as he did eg in the great corridor scene in FFFT), but being pretty vulnerable and real with her. And maybe that is what gets to Amanda?

Yes Learjet, That is what I think finally lets Amanda just go ahead and fall into all the love that she has been storing up for Lee. I think she finally let herself trust that he really wanted her just because. That is why I like that episode. It is only one little part of a rather long Amanda lite episode, but I do think it is very important.

Oh wow... This is a tough one. Usually people say to put down your first thought so I'll go with Season 3 and my favorite episode is probably Stemwinder (guess that's both parts). I'm tempted to ponder the favorite episode a little longer. I like seeing Amanda become this more seasoned spy. Season 4 shows that side of her. But I also love her knee-jerk responses that pay off in the earlier seasons. Lee's transformation is great to see in season 3 (though it begins before that). I like seeing their comfort level with the relationship in season 4 too. There's lots to appreciate about season 4 that's only because of the seasons before it. I also have favorite episodes of the season (well, sort of. Can't make up my mind). Favorite season 1 - Service Above and Beyond Favorite season 2 - (Tough because there are a lot of great ones) - Ship of Spies Favorite season 3 - (Even tougher! I really struggle with this which is why season 3 may be my favorite. It's a tie) - Triumvirate/All the world's a stage. Honorable mentions are Utopia now (hello swamp scene! and Dead Men Leave No Trails (just because of that long awaited kiss, however short it was just made my world complete) Favorite season 4 - (Great season, but this one seems easy) Stemwinder I guess that's all for now.

I love BB's acting in it, especially when he discovers she has been shot, such a gigantically awful moment. Thanks for the welcome, sorry I just jumped in here without posting in an introduction thread first (if that is what you are supposed to do, LOL) I just started reading posts and got excited, so happy I have rediscovered this show, and a community of people who also love it!!!!!

No need to post anywhere first, thedragoness . I haven't watched Mission of Gold for ages (because it's so painful, and RL can be tough enough ). I guess I have always watched it primarily as being about Amanda, and seen Lee as reactive, rather than focusing so much on Lee (and BB's portrayal of it). It'll be fun to walk through it in JWWM and get into what we find out about Lee in this episode...

In fact I am so so happy I found JWWM, because I watch the episodes then read through the walkthroughs, and get a whole new perspective on everything happening! It's so awesome!

My favourite season of SMK is Season 2, my friend and I had heard they would be filming in London, so my friend and I bunked off School and took the train and watched them film scenes from To Catch a Mongoose, we got both Bruce and Kate's autograph though when Bruce said hi I was so tongue tied I couldn't speak. That wasn't my favourite espisode though, that has to be A Lovely Little Affair 😀

Do you think you might have ended up in the background anywhere?

Favorite episode: I have a three way tie between Unfinished Business, The Eyes Have It, and The Long Christmas Eve. I honestly can't decide between them, which is a first for me.
Favorite Season: I think Season 2 or 3 because their friendship is so strong. I love the romance in Season 4, but I kind of expected it because that was when I started watching when I was a kid, whereas seeing all the friendship scenes now have been such a sweet, lovely surprise.
Least favorite episode: Artful Dodger. That scene in the car ruins the episode for me. I would rather see the ep with Eva!

I have a few Sentimental Favorite Episodes: The ACM Kid (because I loved Meeno Peluce's show "Voyagers!"), Utopia Now (so much teenaged squealing about the "almost kiss"), the Stemwinders (or is it "Stems-winder"?) (my high school BFF and I quoted Amanda's "what" line to each other endlessly), and Unfinished Business (because I started my very first fic based on a WWII flashback - typed on my grandmother's old manual typewriter).
