I first started watching SMK when I was 16. I watched until it went off the air. I had the hugest crush on BB and his posters covered my walls. I also remember seeing him on BEBA but really became a fan during SMK. Now my nine yr old daughter and I watch SMK dvd's. Of course, she thinks I'm nuts for thinking BB is still sexy. She secretively loves the show too! Welcome to Ned's jwwm You're not nuts......at all. It's a natural reaction to the eye candy that is Lee Stetson

Hi, I watched SMK back (when it was first aired in Germany ) in 1986 and starded with tgtN. From this day on I never missed the show. Expect this 17 (!!!!) episodes that were never shown. I recorded a few episodes on tape, so the time to wait for the next epi was not to long :-) ahhh, technical equipment back in the 80! Then there was the last episode... ? whaaa the end ?? why ?? I never heard why the show ended ... whit this end... not realy an end... And then in 2011 (whooo how could I survive that long without SMK??) I searched for this and that on youtube and found the first time and all the other episodes. The real voices! Great!!! And of course: just walk with me, its great to know there are so many Fans still there!

Hi, all! Finally found my way here, too. Those of you who're alsoon the yuku SMK board will already know me. *waves at them* Those of you who're not there: Hi, nice to meet you! I'm Khell from Munich. How did I first discover SMK? Well, I first came across the show back in the 80s when it was on German TV as "Agentin mit Herz". Wikipedia says they first aired the show in 1986 here in Germany, so I'd have been nine years old at that time. I absolutely LOVED the show! Didn't miss one single episode (and interestingly, even back then, my favourite character was Francine). I did write some fanfics about the show years later (you know, the kind you hide in some dark corner and when you come across them years later, you read them and then, proceed to burn them in your garden, at midnight, so as not to get caught having written THAT ). Then, I completely forgot about SMK. Earlier this year, in late June, I was kinda bored and was like "you know what I'd like to do now? watch one of those 80s shows I loved so much as a kid". So I went to Saturn (huge electronics, DVD and CD store) and checked out the 80s shows. That's when I came across SMK again. Bought the first DVD-box, all like "oh well, it's not too expensive, so if I don't like it - never mind". By the beginning of July, I had acquired all four DVD-boxes and by mid-August I'd watched all the episodes. And started to watch them again. And write. I can honestly say I haven't had so many fanfic ideas - or written so many stories - since I was waaaaaay into Star Trek: TNG when I was still in school and studying. It's awesome! Anyways - nice to be here!

Thanks for the welcome! So, lemme answer these. What made me hurry back to the store to get season 2 through 4 on DVD? Well, what's very important to me to make me like a TV show, movie or book are the characters. Add stories and dialogue that are at least decent or interesting and you got me hooked. Since I already liked SMK as a kid I guess it was just a matter of seeing the show again and realizing it was still just as awesome as I remembered it. Great characters. Great show. Great stories (well, some are better than others). And of course Francine. XD I really don't know why I always liked her best (and still do, that's why I'm writing all those fanfics, after all). Or why I find it easiest to "get into her" (when I'm writing). All I can think of is that it might be because, when I was a kid, my Dad paid very close attention to what I could and could not see on TV. I was allowed to watch a lot of those great old movies with him. Like - Against all Flags, The Seahawk, Three Musketeers, Robin Hood (the Errol Flynn version), the Court Jester, Wizard of Oz, ... that kind of stuff. I really liked the pirate movies. And I really liked Maureen O'Hara in "Against all Flags" (I think that movie also made me change my mind about wanting to have blond hair - after that, it was red hair). I seem to have always liked that kind of woman, really. I absolutely LOVED "Captain Future" when I was around kindergarten age. His girlfriend, Joan Landor, was introduced in a scene where that huge ape-monster threatens to attack a little kid. In comes Joan and throws the ape-monster over her shoulder. That must have done it. Other favourite female characters of mine include Bonnie Barstow (Knight Rider - always preferred her to April), Tasha Yar (I choose to ignore she was killed by an ill-tempered oilslick ...), Delenn and Susan Ivanova (but mostly Delenn; Babylon 5), Emma Peel (The Avengers - the British show) and Purdey (The New Avengers - dito). So there definitely does seem to be a pattern. Probably strongly influenced by Francine since she was one of my earliest favourite characers.

Ha ha Khell! "Tasha Yar (I choose to ignore she was killed by an ill-tempered oil slick ...)." I am with you! Actually, we used to love Deanna Troi on ST:TNG too, although we used to call her Counselor Cupcake. Just because......

Oh, Deanna was okay, too! Another character I grew quite fond of in ST:TNG was Sela, Tasha's Romulan daughter. I hated her at first - and loved to hate her. Then, after I'd thought about her some more, considered how it must have been to grow up amongst Romulans looking like a human, I actually started to sympathize with her. Certainly one great character - and I'm so glad she's in Star Trek Online. Empress Sela who's ruling the Romulan Empire (well, what's left of it ...) with a "titanium fist". *gg* Definitely her mother's daughter even though she'd probably love to deny her origins.

I don't remember Sela. Oh dear, now another series I will have to go back and watch! *grin* Such a hardship! I have Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica (2004 series), Remington Steele, and Pride and Prejudice (2 versions) already in my queue! Not to mention the books staring at me accusingly that I have neglected with my SMK devotion! Arrrrrgh! So much goodness, so many choices!

I started watching SMK from day 1 when it was on in New Zealand - I think the first season aired here in 1984, I had just started my first job after leaving school. Anyway, I was drawn to the show by KJ who was a favourite of mine from Charlie's Angels Days and BB who I had seen in Tron and thought he had that "something special". I faithfully watched every episode and recorded many of them on VCR. The show ended here in 1988, I continued to watch the recorded episodes for a year or two, then moved on and gave it no further thought for about 20 years until one day in 2010 when something clicked in my brain and I decided to look it up on You Tube. I thought that having matured a great deal I would find it silly and dated but I fell in love with the story and characters all over again. If anything I found SMK even more entertaining than when I originally viewed it all those years ago. Yes, it has moments of silliness, plot holes so big you could fly a Boeing through them, and continuity errors that boggle the mind, but the essential story is charming and engaging, the characters have depth and you can't help but care about what happens to them. All of the actors, including most of the guest actors, put a great deal of skill into portraying the personalities and nuances of their characters - despite the occasional lame script or clunky dialog - and I believe this had made SMK so enduring for many of us.

I actually watched SMK the first time through because my mom did but I was only 4 or 5 at the time so I don't think I remembered much then. It came back on in reruns in the 90s and I remembered liking to watch it with my mom so I started watching it again, and that is when I really fell in love with. I watched for a few years in reruns and saw most of the episodes if not all. Then over the past year I've kind of gotten into revisiting shows I liked as a kid because I just don't think most of todays shows have the same qualities. A couple of months ago I looked For SMK on youtube and it actually only has a few complete episodes but the episodes along with the music videos was enough to draw me back in , especially when I remembered just why I always thought BB was so incredibly sexy in this show. After watching what was available on youtube, I then bought the DVDS, and I am officially in love all over again.

I watched SMK when it first aired in the US. I was a huge Bruce Boxleitner fan already so there was no way I was going to miss SMK. I was already in my early 20's when it first aired in 83. I had a friend at work and we both loved SMK. The day after each episode aired we'd go over every bit of the episode with all the "Oh my god did you see..." etc. As for when I rediscovered it is when I stumbled over my old VHS tapes one day a few years ago (amazingly still worked). I started watching them and got the added bonus of all the nostalgic 80's commercials that I forgot all about. I then started searching the internet for other fan sources for SMK and came across the SMK forum and the rest as they say... is history....
