lol, Don't worry! I'm not feeling bad. I just couldn't resist commenting on the slap thing. Kind of makes me think of the Monty Python fish slapping thing, for some reason. I've got a list of other fics to finish, although I take suggestions, too. You guys are fun because you feed my plot bunnies. My plot bunnies appreciate it, too.

I love the recap of the conversation, BJo! All of my fanfiction is on fanfiction.net. Jestress is also my pen name there. The story you were thinking of, the filler for Flight to Freedom, is called The Candle Flame. Jestress is a little concerned about the number of people who seem to want to slap fanfic writers, but she is reasonably confident in her ability to duck. (Notice, still talking about herself in the third person.) Thanks, Jestress! I love how Lee handles the situation...just wishing his fingers were massaging my temples...sigh. Looking forward to reading your Halloween stories soon!

Oh seriously Jestress, Jule just wants to slap writers who can evoke humor, emotion, the warmth of the relationship between Lee and Amanda, and stay reasonably in canon because Jule is jealous and can barely write her name. Jule wants you and other marvelous writers to continue to entice the reader with your stories and thus keep SMK alive and well. Jule is now unable to talk in the first person coz she broke her last brain cell getting down that damned rabbit hole. Oops. Still Jule has chocolate and marshmallows to share. Ta Ta!

Rabbit hole, huh? So that's where all these bunnies keep coming from. I was going to ask about that. (Jestress nudges bunny aside so that she can sit down.) That third person stuff is catching, isn't it?

Thanks for the link to that fanfic, BJo. I remember it, now.
Jestress, I enjoyed your stories. I'm looking forward to how the Halloween "episode" goes.

I also like this one... Past The End Of His Nose by Vikki. (Especially since the "cute nose" comment in the TLS tag bugs me.

Awhile back, I was asking everyone a weird question, based on something that happens in one of my stories (actually, it was the Halloween story I just published): If someone broke into your house wearing a costume, what would be the scariest thing they could be wearing? At first, I was looking for inspiration for the story, but even after I finished writing that scene (I ended up changing my mind about exactly how it goes, so I'm not spoiling anything by telling you this), I kept asking people the question just because it was interesting to hear the responses. So, for everyone's amusement, here's what everyone said: - Vampire
- Devil
- Frankenstein
- Scream mask
- Slenderman (which would be fascinating if anyone could pull it off)
- Mayor McCheese (I have to admit, that is the scariest-looking McDonald's character I've ever seen)
- Someone from the IRS
- Someone famous who would obviously not be at your house
- The Grim Reaper (which says a lot about the person's intentions)
One SMK fan also said that she'd want it to be a scarecrow, but not because that would be scary. If anyone else wants to suggest something else, go ahead. Even though the scene's written, I'm still having fun collecting responses.

For me the Scream mask totally freaks me out (despite me actually liking the pic it's based on) but the other would be a clown. They are way too creepy!

I've been thinking a bit about Amanda's journey, along with some prompts from the Yuku site. It hit me this weekend (when I should have been working on my class project), and wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote it down. So, I've posted it here on fanfiction.net. Now to get back to my work (and spend some time on my class project, like a good student should). Hope y'all enjoy it.

I always think that the ones that have painted-on frowns are the weirdest. Smiles I understand, but frowns are really weird. I read your latest stories, Debilyn. They're great!

Thanks, Jestress. I enjoyed writing them, so I'm glad you enjoyed them. I've been thinking about what kind of costume would be the scariest. I'm not really sure. I would probably be scared of any costume if someone snuck up on me. We used to have a spook trail many years ago, so I'm not really scared of costumes any more. However, if someone snuck up on me - yeah, I would probably jump and scream. I can be easily startled.

Debilyn, I just read and really enjoyed your People Might Think story. It so perfectly fits our two favorites who live in the Land of Denial. Arggggh, now, I can't get the song out of my mind! I know I will wake up singing it and my husband will just shake his head till the painful rendition is over......wish I could sing, wish I could write...Oh well, as long as you folks keep the stories coming I can get my fix. Thanks!
