hey all, I know I'm a bit late on the reply to this one , but thought I'd share my story of SMK anyway I watched when it aired over here in Australia originally. I was in primary school (grade school I think in the US?) about 10 I guess. My mum loved the show too (wonder why? LOL!) so we watched it every week. I don't remember much of specific episodes, but I do remember giving my friends a full episode recap the next day at school. Also, I remember going through a phase of wearing my watch on my right wrist (even though I'm right handed) and only wanting to drink coffee for breakfast! All in tribute to Lee LOL! And as I told Iwsod before I actually glued posters of Lee to my wall - yes people! actual glue! Massive crush happening on BB back then! Then I guess like everyone else here, have rediscovered it again lately. I had been looking on Amazon for a few years for the DVD's with no luck - I think spurred on by the screening of my two other fav shows from that era on pay TV over here (The A-Team and Remington Steele) though they never screened SMK But at least now we have the DVD's which is great. And then to find a great community like the one I've found here & at JWWM is really amazing & lots of fun. Quick question for everyone - the last scene on the credits, where Lee is the cabbie & Amanda drops her bags in the street...is that scene actually in an episode? Cause I've watched the DVD's and haven't seen it?

No--the cab scene is just a credits only thing... you didn't miss it anywhere. LOL.

Hi KC
That's what I thought about the cab scene. Maybe it was a scene in an episode that ended up in the cutting room floor? I have wondered which episode it might fit into, but couldn't really think of one specifically

The only thing I could remember about SMK was some of the credits including the cab scene. Nothing about the actual episodes LOL Funny what we remember

I have wondered which episode it might fit into, but couldn't really think of one specifically That reminds me, I've been meaning to ask if there were any episodes of the show that were never aired. A friend of mine said that she was thinking about buying some scripts of the show, and there were a couple of titles that she didn't recognize: The Spy Next Door and Pillow Patter. I thought that they might be alternate titles for episodes, but does anyone know for sure?

JWWM 1/11 Season Two, Episode 23 (Vigilante Mothers) - Iwsod said that VM was originally titled The Spy Next Door...
Pillow Patter: I have no clue, but Petra does have some scripts for other unfilmed episodes on her site (in the Steno Pool section, with the other scripts and transcripts). Of course, it might also be a filmed ep under another name. LOL.

Oh, I missed the original title for Vigilante Mothers. I've been looking around at others sites, and someone on one of them said that Pillow Patter was the original title for A Little Sex, A Little Scandal. I haven't seen any of the scripts, though, so I don't know for sure if that's right. It looks like only members of Petra's site can see the scripts there. I might be interested in signing up, but I don't know Petra or if there are any requirements for membership.

Ah, yes--that would make sense as an alternate title for ALSALS. Re: signing up, just follow the instructions on Petra's site/email her. (It's an awesome SMK site.)

Have been lurking for a couple of months and thought I'd share my SMK "story" as all my friends (and my long-suffering husband) think I'm slightly crazy watching it. I grew up in South Africa (but now live in Australia) and was 9 when it started but I suspect it was only shown about 2 years later. It was "dubbed" into Afrikaans and called "Spioen Spioen" (which means "Spy spy") but we could listen to the English on the radio and watch the visuals on TV. All I remember was the titles, that I thought it was very romantic and exciting and the episode where Amanda and Francine go undercover as maids. After 3 years of holding off, I have succumbed to self-indulgence and bought the DVDs. Watched season three in 6 days...! Suffered through the last 6 episodes of season 4 and was left feeling miserable. So rewatched the best episodes of season 4 to calm the depression, and am starting season one again, accompanied by JWWM. Thanks so much for all the hard work IWSOD and your co-bloggers!
A quick question: has anyone read BB's two novels (and were they ghost-written or did he do it all?)

A quick question: has anyone read BB's two novels (and were they ghost-written or did he do it all?) Hi, Learjet! I found a used copy of BB's second book awhile ago and bought it, but I haven't read it yet. I've been looking around to try to find a copy of the first one, but so far no luck. If I can't find it, I'm thinking of arranging an interlibrary loan for it. I did that for something else I wanted recently, and they were pretty quick about it. I read somewhere that both books were ghostwritten by William H. Keith.

I think both books were ghostwritten. I have the first one, and it was an interesting read if you like a sci-fi/western blend. It was "Gunfight at the OK corral" with aliens.

Oh well - I suppose you can't act well, have amazing looks, a voice to make any woman melt and be able to write a book too. I assume he came up with some of ideas though.

LOL, learjet. I believe the story was more-or-less BB's idea and the ghostwriter just helped form it into a novel.

Hi everyone,
I was in college when SMK came out and because I had little time and had to share a TV, I didn't get to watch SMK much except for the last season. I got to see most of the episodes a year or two later when it aired on a local independent station. I still have the VHS tapes that I made. I nearly wore them out, especially season 3 (I'm an incurable romantic and loved watching their romance develop).
Oh, btw iwsod, I think your numbering of the episodes is pretty close because I went back and looked at my old tapes. My hubby bought me all four seasons last year and there seemed to be something odd about the order. I think when I recorded the tapes, the station aired them in production order rather than the order they were originally aired. For example, (once you get to ordering season 4), during UB, when Lee is drugged, I distinctly remember thinking that Amanda was going to ask Lee if he loved her, because that was the order I remember. That would have been weird since Stemwinder was aired first. However, I never saw the first run and my tapes have UB first. When I watched the DVD for the first time I was scratching my head wondering why UB was after the Stemwinder eps.
Anyway, my VHS tapes were gathering dust and I hadn't watched them for years. There is an interesting story about what sparked my interest again. I am an X-Men fan and write X-Men fanfic (never posted them on ff.net but I do beta other fics so if anyone is looking for a beta...). My favorite character is Nightcrawler. About a year ago I was doing an Internet search on Nightcrawler and stumbled on a forum discussion about the SMK episode Nightcrawler (pretty much my favorite ep of the whole series). That particular forum (I think it was a Yuku) was no longer very active but it was interesting reading. After Hubby bought me all four seasons for my birthday, I got hooked again. From there I started looking for other SMK websites and have read fanfic on several sites, one of which had links JWWM, and that brought me here.

A quick question: has anyone read BB's two novels (and were they ghost-written or did he do it all?) Hi learjet! Great to hear your story!!!
