Hi Everyone, As we draw closer to the end of Season 3- my mind has started to wander toward season 4, and how it's going to go.. I know I'm all for staying in the moment with the walk, but as I write the blog posts I am forced to think a head a little Anyway, I shared yesterday on the blog: "I’m nervous that season 4 is approaching and season 3 is ending! I don’t remember details of season 4, but I remember looking at season 4 on yuku and hearing opinions that it was hard to watch at times.. and a bit of a downer. I’m nervous about writing the walk for season 4!! Is anyone else feeling this way?" I'm wondering if season 4 is going to mean changing the way JWWM does things.. Very open to ideas! I'm pondering this one.. I'm full of mixed thoughts and emotions on this one and would love to hear your thoughts guys! [when you have time no hurry] Without discussing ep specifics, my memory of season 4 is it has very high highs and very low lows! If there's not much appetite to chat about episodes I can't see them being walked through for six weeks, and I don't have time to write blog posts any faster than I already am.. But.. I also enjoy not skipping parts and finding hidden gems with the help of others - who may actually love the scene or the ep or the character - and give a new perspective on things! I also like having all the dialogue and scenes covered - it's a good resource to come back to later when you think of something. However, if no one is enjoying it, focusing too long on the cringe worthy stuff can be counterproductive and torturous... So what to do everyone? Also, please share your thoughts on changing the order of season 4 - as 2 goldens and clagjanet mentioned on JWWM, there are a few thoughts on episode order for season 4 - that were pretty clearly swapped around.. Learjet reminded me that Unfinished Business was originally suppose to be episode 1.. I'm happy to blog this episode first - is everyone happy with this? Also, I know there was something weird with the ep order around Santa's got a new bag - and dotty being introduced to Lee but she knew him in the episode we saw before that! Can someone clarify for me what episodes needed to be switched there? I don't want to watch the eps so I can't check. I think the rest of season 4 - I'll keep as it aired.. unless someone can suggest a good reason that it must be changed? Bye!! Iwsod

Like I mentioned, I can't remember much about season 4, but would be much happier if Unfinished Business was blogged first. Stemwinder should not be first.

Iwsod "Any Number Can Play" is the episode where Dotty and Lee meets and should be before "Santa's Got a Brand New Bag" where Lee has already met Dotty and the boys. I don't know any more about episode order - I know there were people who proposed moving the last 5 episodes around. I've only watched those last episodes once each because I found them too hard....I don't think fancy dwelling on them too much, or maybe just focusing on the scenes showing evolving relatinoships. But there is plenty of time to think about the last quarter of the season....

Season 4 is my least favorite season because it's considerably darker than the rest of the series, but there are a few bright spots in it. I agree with Learjet about "Any Number Can Play" and "Santa's Got a Brand New Bag." I think Dotty has some particularly good moments in that season, especially in "Any Number Can Play."

And I think it's pretty clear mine are pretty jumbled One thing I'm quite clear on though (hooray there is something!) is I won't go changing around orders of episodes for the last 5 episodes. I'd only consider the two where the orders had obviously, and pretty unanimously been switched (and even then, if someone can give me a good reason not to I'd consider it). Basically, where there is debate, I'd prefer to keep to airing order. We can debate once the season is finished

Amazing that a TV Show form the 1980's is making me do some very High Tech Stuff(For me anyway) in the year 2017! Signing up for a forum like, golly gee what will I be doing next? Using a fax machine.....
First off I watched the first DVD of Season 4. I think Unfinished Business should be blogged first, and then the 2 Stemwinder episodes. Unfinished Business will give SMK fans plenty of reasons to make comments.
In one of my posts I mentioned a weekly Happy Hour where we have discussed SMK. The Happy Hour is at a Bar in Frankfurt, Germany. Our name is the Queen Mum's Club, or QMC. The name comes from Queen Elizabeth's Mother known as The Queen Mother. The Queen Mother lived to be 102 years old, and it is said that she drank a Gin&Tonic every day. So 16 years ago when we met at this bar for Happy Hour with mixed drinks half price, our little group all happened to order Gin&Tonics. The bartender quipped just like The Queen Mum. Since then that is what we call our little group, and we are still drinking our Gin&Tonics every week.
While enjoying our G&T's many topics are discussed, films, The German Tatort Series(Tatort is German for crime scene), and of course British and American culture. American TV shows are often talked about. TV series from the 1960's thru the 90's are regularly shown on German TV; I Dream of Jeannie, The Waltons, Bonanza, Murder She Wrote(Very Popular), Columbo. Kojak, Hart to Hart, along with many others. Of course SMK is also shown and happens to a particular favourite with the QMC. The fact that the DVD's had episodes not shown on German TV made it even more interesting for the QMC.
OK, enough of my Gin inspired comments. I did want to add my support/urging for the blogging of season 4! Keep JWWM going. It is fun and so what if things do not go the way we want, there is still Amanda&Lee!

I'm actually really looking forward to the Walk through season 4. As I have discovered that while there are some episodes that I initially didn't like, the Walk and everyone's comments have made those episodes better for me.

Everyone else has definitely covered the two major episode reversals that bother me. (Unfinished Business/Stemwinder and ANCP/SGABNB).
Season 4 had kind of grown on me a bit even with all the reasons to hate it. Francine actually gets a little more development character wise, although her clothes remain fantastically dreadful and we get to see L&A much more at ease with each other which often makes it more playful when they are busy teasing Francine and vice versa.
Bring it on, I say. We'll find a way to enjoy every episode, I'm sure.

I agree with the discussions about some of the episode order in regards to UB and Stemwinder, as well as the Dotty meets Lee episodes. While I know there is some hesitancy about season 4, I think it's still viable to walk through it. I know that my DVDs of the previous seasons and early season 4 get more of a viewing than the end of season 4. I would be interested to hear people's comments about how they feel. I find new insights and sometimes appreciate scenes that I didn't necessarily like before and gain some understanding of what may be going on. I also like how some can come up wth a better idea of how it should have been filmed or how we sometimes get script insights. Either way I will accept whatever way it goes.

Great to see you found your way over here!!! And thanks for sharing your thoughts on season 4! thanks also for describing your happy hour - that sounds like loads of fun! I'm jealous, wish I had a happy hour like that locally! I'm a massive Columbo fan!!! I honestly think I know they all by heart! Would love to do a walk through columbo one day haaaa! Anyway, back to smk. I'm thinking approaching the walk through season 4 with a G&T in one hand maybe key to making it a fully enjoyable experience You're so right - it's not exactly what we want, but it definitely still has value! And.. I think if we walk through it together we will enjoy even the last eps more!

Hope you don't mind my asking..but are you on JWWM under another handle? Just trying to get clear in my mind who is who in cyberspace! [I'm also not sure if dasgiest is someone else on JWWM too.. I see this person has liked your comment. me confused!] anyway, getting back to your comment. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's been helpful to me to hear what others think, it has helped me to think things through and prepare! Yes! I've decided to walk through Unfinished business first! then the stemwinders! And yes, I'll walk through Any number can play before Santa's got a new bag. You guys have all cleared that up for me and helped me to avoid needing to watch the eps - thank you!! Oh I hope the walk through season 4 is a fun journey.. I think if we are together it will be.. but then, I know people come and go from the walk.. and sometimes don't get involved with eps they don't warm to. Me, I have to be involved in them all and can't skip any- because I write them! lol.
