So this is a bit off the spirit of the original thread but is music related. I was cooking last night and heard a familiar tune coming from the bathroom - it was my eight year old daughter singing the SMK theme tune (extremely accurately!!) Am I watching too much SMK?

This song from Lady Antebellum reminds me always on SMK "Can't stand the rain":
The storms of life are gonna blow through baby You know we've all seen a cloud or two But I meant it when I promised I would have your back Through sky black or blue
Do you remember how we swore forever Till the sweet or the bitter end Well this is what they mean when they say You've got the real thing in a friend
With arms open wide I'll be your umbrella When you just can't stand the rain There by your side I wanna be your shelter When you just can't stand When you just can't stand the rain
and this one too "Love I found in you", OMG I can't get that song out of my head, lalalallaaa....

Now that we are in Utopia Now, a couple of songs just call out to me: This Love by Rebecca Lynn Howard and Marty Dodson: Every mountain I had to climb Every river I had to swim Every desert that I crossed Brought me one step closer to him And this incredible love we're in It's unlike anything I ever imagined And just like everything I've ever dreamed of This man, this life, this love This man, this life, this love I thought love was a fairy tale Waiting on my prince to come Tried on slippers but nothing fit Make believe's no comparison To the reality of this love It's unlike anything I ever imagined And just like everything I've ever dreamed of This man, this life, this love This man, this life, this love It's unlike anything I ever imagined And just like everything I've ever dreamed of This man, this life, this love This man, this life, this love This love I can't find it anywhere to just listen to but it is on iTunes. Also, Today by the Jefferson Airplane: So many good songs out there that fit Back to swooning and thudding!

Oh and one more (there's always one more LOL): Song for the Life by Rodney Crowell. Here's a version by Alan Jackson:
Well, I don't drink as much as I used to Lately it just ain't my style And the hard times don't hurt like they ought to They pass quickly like when I was a child
And somehow I've learned how to listen For a sound like the sun going down And the magic the morning is bringing There's a song for the life I have found It keeps my feet on the ground
And the midsummer days sit so heavy But don't they flow like the breeze through your mind When nothing appears in a hurry To make up for someone's lost time
And somehow I've learned how to listen For a sound like the sun going down And the magic the morning is bringing There's a song for the life I have found It keeps my feet on the ground
And somehow I've learned how to listen For a sound like the breeze dying down And the magic the morning is bringing There's a song for the friend I have found She keeps my feet on the ground She keeps my feet on the ground...

AWH!!!!! Learjet that warms the heart!!!! Well done with some great parenting there! I have found that I am a huge SMK addict. I know I've been watching way too much SMK, when I can name all the episodes that clips came from when I watch SMK YouTube music videos. I own all of the DVDs and when I can't score vids, I write SMK fanfic. But I just can't seem to get my kids interested in SMK.

Are they boys or girls, whitefeather? I think what got my girls interested was basically Lee (with Jamie coming a distant second; Phillip doesn't even feature )

Bwahahahaha! Probably! When my kids hear the theme song, they roll their eyes, groan, and leave the room!

I also watch lot of Charlie's Angels, too and that gets about the same reaction. Oh, the trials and tribulations of being a huge KJ fan.

My daughter says she wants to watch SMK with me, but I think it is because she wants to do what Mommy does, so if I like she will too. I don't know if I want my 7 yr old going gaga over some spy though... either that or I really like having SMK all to my self.
I am thinking that this song is a good one for Lee at the end of TWWH

I am thinking that this song is a good one for Lee at the end of TWWH I remember that song! I had a teacher in elementary school who loved that song, and she used to play the peppier version by the Proclaimers at class parties. I associate the cheery version with the limbo now because she also taught us to do that . . . to that song. I told someone else that awhile ago, and they just stared at me. The slower version would work great for Lee, though.
