Yep, it worked, iwsod! Interesting article - and I agree about what you said about reading about her marriage knowing that it didn't last. I get why she didn't want to do a running braless scene, but I find it odd that she seems to go braless in SMK a lot - at least in S1. I don't know why. I thought that was a 60's or 70's thing. I guess I can't really imagine going without one all day and doing all that she does on that show. It just seems weird to me.

BJo, maybe it's the difference in how it's presented on the show. I'm a "Charlie's Angels" fan, but I saw the show as a campy, fun show with the knowledge that it did present itself as "eye candy" in some ways. There were good storylines, and some not so good. We revisited it with the family last year, and everyone enjoyed it. Sabrina was my favorite angel, in part because she usually seemed to take on the "brainy" jobs.

Hi Everyone! Hope you are well!! Just read an article over my morning coffee.. so thought I'd share it.. It's called 'Angel Ever After' dated May 1992 [yes another lame Charlie's angle pun.. ugh] I didn't know BB had the flu so shooting was cancelled one day- and that's the day KJ decided to go have her mammogram.. wow.. fate eh.. This article talks about Charlie's Angels, her breast cancer history (two battles? I didn't know any of this), her childhood, moving to Hollywood.. this is a big article all about Kate.. and it comes at the time where she is newly married to her third husband [ man.. so sad.. I just want KJ to be happy!] and talks of how she met him.. She's a fighter!! hope you find it interesting too.. here's the linkIwsod

Charlie's Angels was exploitative.. and probably the worst possible job for KJ and her brain which she wanted to use I saw a telemovie which dramatized the creation of Charlie's angels and the behind the scenes dramas.. KJ was played by Lauren Stamile I think.. and it was really great - it was exactly how I thought KJ would be.. wanting to have a say in the characters and the show, having a valid point of view but just not being listened to because she was suppose to be one of the pretty actresses who just does what she's told.. Which is why I love it that Lee says so much that Amanda doesn't do what she's told! You know what I realised the other day? the first thing Lee says to Amanda at Moby'd dock - this is the first time they've exchanged words since the train station, the first words out of Lee's mouth are: You didn't do what I told you to! rofl!!!! [okay he does first stay: I've got your gangplank burger or something..but that's just the cover so that doesn't count! ] this lovely theme gets continued throughout the show doesn't it! Okay byee for now!

hiya I read another article this morning.. I get to one every now and then.. articles.latimes.com/1988-11-02/entertainment/ca-596_1_kate-jacksonIt's called: Kate Jackson goes 'Boom' dated Nov 1988 It's the day of the premiere of her new series Baby Boom.. and she is feeling very happy creatively with the show.. again - it's a bit sad to see how it turned out. Seems the shows where no one cared (as she says) are the ones that were most successful- kind of infuriating! This paragraph quoting KJ was a doozie: "I have temperament --I don't have temper," she said. "I don't know that I'm so much a difficult person as a person who really cares. I'm sure I have been difficult for some people to work with, but I think some of them weren't trying very hard, and frustrated me to the point at which I forgot my people skills." LOL.. it sounds like she did have a temper.... I can see why she ruffled feathers! She spoke her mind, wasn't always nice and worst sin for a woman- she lost her temper. Every interview she gets asked about this - it's enough to make some loose their temper. BB had a temper.. no one asks him about it.. It's like the scene in odds on a dead pigeon where the doctor is talking to Lee like she is not there.. so Amanda gets upset - and the doctor points out that she's upset and that's only natural (after the shock she's had, nothing to do with being ignored). Then.. he simply turns back to Lee and talks to him again having learned nothing.. Well to end things on a bizarre note here.. check out this site I found: www.celebritytalent.net/sampletalent/424/kate-jackson/So that's why KJ doesn't go to the reunion!! she costs that much!! I posted this link over on yuku recently also.. I find it hard to get my head around paying to have someone show up to receive praise and admiration for work they were paid to do 30 years ago and still get $$ from with dvd sales ( well.. they should be getting $$ if they're not they should sack their manager).. Hollywood is a strange world to me.. Most people would offer to show up for free.. or at max get their flight and accom paid but an appearance fee? I truly find all this bizarre! but maybe it's just me! byee for now

Oh no! How dare KJ be passionate about her acting and really care about what she did... and care that other people didn't seem to give a rat's *rse?!?!? I think I respect her even more now. " BB had a temper.. no one asks him about it.." Uhhh... I hate to break it to you, Iwsod, but BB's not a woman. (Men seem to be allowed to have less endearing traits and get away with it... ...)

" BB had a temper.. no one asks him about it.." Uhhh... I hate to break it to you, Iwsod, but BB's not a woman. (Men seem to be allowed to have less endearing traits and get away with it... ...) Preach it sister!! I love it! tee hee.. you are not breaking to me BB is not a woman I am very aware of that fact haaaaa!!! Lol but that was my point I was trying to make by saying BB was never asked: double standard! The evidence seems to support your theory there KC.. men were allowed (are allowed?? I could argue this attitude still exists! but I'll stick to the time of KJ's work battles) to be angry. Women were suppose to look pretty and not make waves. I find it infuriating - from what I've read all the pressure was on KJ.. as she said in the article I just listed - she was told to work hard and everything would be fine- no one else had to work hard! - but it was her name out there in public being put to the finished product. And Baby Boom tv series is known as the kate Jackson failure.. not the executive producer's or whatever. I did read an article that said how KJ had to come in to work an hour earlier than BB - because of the hair and make up !!!! I couldn't be all nice and sweet in these circumstances for long! Hmm it was a BB article and he said that about the make up.. I"ll have to try and find it.. another one I've lost.. Anyway, it's really interesting looking back on that time. You can definitely see what behaviours in women were rewarded, and which were not! KJ's my hero.. she ain't perfect.. but then no one is - and I admire her for her courage that I think she showed! Hope you are well! If you find any articles about smk, KJ or BB feel free to post them here with a little blurb of what it's about.. makes it easier to find them for future reference. and LOL then you don't end up saying: oh yeah I read that in an article once about BB's work day starting an hour later.. and then having no idea where you read it!

I knew that was what you meant... I wanted to make myself look at least vaguely intelligent--instead of just the permanent class clown. I know what it's like to pour everything you have into something and to be sh*t on repeatedly--personally and professionally. Like I've said many times before, I have so much respect for KJ. I could go on, but I won't. Suffice to say, I hope she's really happy not dealing with the "joys" of Hollywood any more.

Hi Everyone I came across Tamara's smk fansite yesterday - Tamara if you are out there say hi! A couple of articles were listed.. Here's the link: comp.uark.edu/~tsnyder/enSAMK.htmlI'll copy the 4 tv guide blurbs on Tamara's site here:July 20, 1985 Renovation Work: CBS's Scarecrow and Mrs. King has been "freshened up" by a new team of writers. The show will have "more variety" and "move more quickly." Magnum, P.I. "will be more centered around Tom Selleck" and have "more recognizable guest stars." The addition of Morgan Fairchild and Apollonia Kotero to the cast of Falcon Crest should "beef up" the ratings of that CBS serial.
July 27, 1985 The Spy Who Liked Me Will Scarecrow and Mrs. King's Lee Stetson and Amanda King (Bruce Boxleitner, Kate Jackson) ever get romantically involved? Don't hold your breath. This season, Lee gets a girl friend, a beautiful UN translator (played by Elyssa Davalos), and while Amanda reveals a flash of jealousy when she meets the new woman, the relationship between the title characters will remain strictly flirtatious. How come? The producers feel a secret agent is hardly ready to settle down with a wife and kids. [again, before start of season 3]
Aug 30, 1986 The Spy Who Loved Me? It was always assumed that CBS's Scarecrow and Mrs. King (Bruce Boxleitner and Kate Jackson) would never become romantically involved because of the dangerous nature of their work, which is espionage. But with Amanda on her way to becoming a full-fledged agent, a full-blown (albeit clandestine) romance is now looming for next season. Their mutual attraction "has evolved over the last three years," says executive producer George Geiger, "and should be allowed to take its natural course." Could that mean wedding bells? That's still top secret. [after season 3, and before the start of season 4]
date unknown (summer 1986?) Party Line Actor Vladimir Skomarovsky, a Soviet citizen who spends half his time in the USSR, is in Hollywood to guest-star in the two-part season premiere of Scarecrow and Mrs. King. His role: a rogue KGB agent bent on revenge against Lee Stetson (Bruce Boxleitner). "I'm glad to see the producers showing a serious Russian character," says Skomarovsky, "not just a caricature....You have to understand the KGB. They are just serving their country." In which country would he rather live? "When I'm here, I say America. When in Russia, I say I prefer it there." Is good answer, comrade. [before start of season 4]
Sooooo thoughts anyone??

here's a little article on BB I found at the weinwalk site.. Here's a link: www.maestravida.com/weinwalk/capmag.htmlThis site has generously shared a lot of BB articles.. if you read one please share it here - there are so many! no title.. but dated January 1986 so during season 3.. "All my life I hated my name, but now it's OK," says Bruce Boxleitner of Scarecrow and Mrs. King. "When you're a little kid, other kids go, 'Brucie, Brucie,' if you know what I mean." It's a great name these days, thanks to Boxleitner and fellow Bruces Willis and Springsteen. Springsteen needs no introduction, and Willis wouldn't either if he'd wise up, says Boxleitner. "I don't know why he doesn't do interviews. Maybe he thinks he doesn't know how. I would suggest that he learn. That I-can't-talk-to-the-press thing can work against you." So far it hasn't hurt Willis, who costars with Cybill Shepherd in Moonlighting. In fact, it has worked rather well: The more closemouthed Willis is, the more reporters report about him. And when he finally does talk, they fall all over themselves to report about that. In the meantime, there's no shortage of Bruce quotes, because Boxleitner has a big mouth and no reservations about using it. Name your subject. Here's Bruce on Phil Donahue: "I almost wanted to deck him. He was trying to say that actors are manipulated. I'm a human being, I can say yes or no. I can say, 'You're fired, (unprintable word).' " On his TV show: "I don't think our show is any more than we give you — an hour of escape. I don't pretend that it's any more than that." Soooo fingers crossed no one at the reunion called him Brucie Ahhh how refreshing.. no mention of KJ and her 'temper' whahahahaa.. yeah that's the impression I get of BB in interviews.. not shy about giving his opinion.. full stop! [Gosh.. umm doesn't that make him 'difficult to work with'?? why doesn't anyone ask KJ how she copes with working with BB?! We all know why! ] Has anyone seen this Donahue show? I think I saw a transcript to it somewhere but haven't read it. yeah if I find it I'll post the link here.. or if anyone else knows it?? I think Melissa Gilbert was on it too.. ?? Is anyone reading these? should I keep bothering to share them? Okay well byee for now! iwsod

Yes, please!
When I have time away from my Patrolling, I want to read some articles... so getting the scoop from you is my stop-gap, and much appreciated.
(Hey--if you happen to fall over anything where BB is talking about the hunk-of-junk Porsche, please let me know for Vehicle Patrol...)
