I've read both the fan fics about the 5 days. Not sure I was ready for the second one when I read it, because I wasn't necessarily sure where I felt they were in their relationship. The first one had each day as a chapter. I may have to go back and reread that one as it was a while ago. I did read one called "The Eyes Have It" by Bridget over on fanfiction.net. It was about Amanda's reaction to Lee dying on the operating table and how she hadn't been told what was really happening. Not sure how to do a link. Will learn for the next time.

Here is the link to the post with tags and AU stories about The Eyes Have It which I made and posted at Neds. I'm sure there are a couple of five day stories there. I need to update this whole thread. Maybe when the kids are home for holidays

*Shock*! What is iwsod doing in the fan fic thread?! Alaskafan over at yuku kindly emailed me to inform me that I have been quoted in a new fan fic she wrote! I'm a celebrity! haa haaaa.. [I'm I want scarecrow on dvd] It's called 'behind the scenes' and on fanfic.net - as she asked if it was okay.. I actually read it! A lovely little reminder of a rather anxious time for smk fans.. who had no promise Warner Bros were ever going to release smk on dvd! Phew!! so glad they did!! Well this has been a lovely little foray into the fan fic world.. I'll back out of here very carefully- bye!!

I've written 5 SMK Stories, I've posted links to my first one here. I have others that are kind've brewing in the background and possible ones that may never get written (isn't that always the case though?) So here goes with my first one, enjoy. www.fanfiction.net/s/8733712/1/My-Amandamithras90

YAY!!! I am so glad I found this site, and this forum! I am bookmarking, and favoriting so many fanfics! This is much better than rifling through all of them on ff.net!

Hi Everyone, I suggested to iwsod that we move the fanfic discussion over here to Ned's and she agreed, so voila! Here's a link to the original discussion on the blog. It was part of the comment thread for post 8 of OOADPigeon. justwalkwithme.com/2013/09/26/8-season-two-episode-17-odds-on-a-dead-pigeon-scarecrow-and-mrs-king/#commentsIf you don't feel like going back over there to sift through the comments to find what you're looking for, here's a brief recap: - Bink,BJo and iwsod all agree RedGold is a fabulous fanfic writer.
- iwsod doesn't read fanfic - at least not until she has finished her 88 episode walk.
- Bink (aka kgmohror) thinks RedGold needs to write MORE MORE MORE fanfic.
- RedGold wrote "Autumn Lights".
- Bink thinks most fanfic isn't very good.
- BJo, Bink and Jule all wish they could write really well.
- Bink and Jule slap writers who can write better than they can.
- Morley stalks fanfic authors who write well.
- Morley also thinks it is fun to try to represent the characters as well as her favoriter authors even though she doesn't always know how to (her words, not mine .
- Cindy agrees with Bink that most fanfic isn't very good but there are also good writers who don't know the characters well and that frustrates her.
- Cindy also hates it when authors have Lee and Amanda get hot and heavy in S1 - she prefers to stay in cannon. No AU for her!
- Bink and Jule agree with Cindy on the AU stuff.
- BJo is easily entertained by most fanfic (because she is always in a dimple coma) but prefers in cannon stuff like Cindy and Bink.
- Melissa R. also prefers in cannon and writes her stuff after the series ended so she can do what she wants with the characters. That almost sounds naughty....
- Bink dabbles in fanfic - but has only done Remington Steels stuff. She may do SMK in the future. Oh, and she has an RS blog! Check it out! kgmohror.com/
- KC thanks Bink for mentioning RedGold's fanfic "Autumn Lights" and says RedGold "nailed it!" Yep, think we all agree on that one, KC!
Check out the real comments if you have time - I couldn't capture all the good stuff - just the funny stuff. And I may have gotten something wrong. Jestress also shared that she writes SMK fanfic - although it was not part of this comment thread. Loved her filler story for Flight to Freedom! What's the title, Jestress? Jestress and Melissa R., would you care to share some of the titles of your stories or links to where fanfic readers can find them? Anyone else care to share a fanfic thev're written? So what is your favorite fanfic? Why? What do you think makes a fanfic good? Does it have to be technically well-written? How would you define well-written? Does is need to make you cry or laugh out loud? Are you easily entertained (especially after seeing Lee in a tux)? Okay - I'll stop there - just please remember to be considerate! It isn't easy putting yourself out there on the open market for criticism! Okay .. I have written my first SMK fiction, I really tried to stay in cannon, might be slightly AU (mostly because my plot is a bit darker than the show ever would have gone to) so .... how do I post it? do I just post it here? it's a word document so I could upload it as an attachment.

What makes good fanfic in my opinion: - Very little OOC'ness
- Spell checking (very important)
- Plausible plot lines (which is probably why I have posted so few fics, as it is something I still struggle with)
@ the dragoness: When I had my first SMK fanfic out, I first posted on the then SMK forum and asked if anyone would like to read it first (to point out spelling mistakes and other blatant booboos, since English is not my first language). And also to find out if it was alright to post or if I should just stay out of writing FF forever >grins< . A few people PM'd me their email addies and I sent them the doc as an attachment. I'm glad I did, because people on the SMK forums are very nice and considerate, so you're in good hands. They helped me iron out a few things. And when they liked my work, I felt much better about putting it on FF.net later. My views of what makes good fanfic have seemingly shifted over time. In my teens I liked to write about the stuff we never got to see on the show, like Amanda and Lee getting together. It turned out, though, that most of what I wrote was simply horrible, OOC stuff. I'm glad we didn't have the Internet back then, because that fact spared fans a lot of bad writing. Oddly enough, most "X and Y get together" fics I read today I find pretty much inane, insipid. Like the stuff I wrote back then. My first fic was published when I was a bit older. And it was the first one I really liked myself. Gosh, that was almost an essay >grins<. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. SA

scarecrowsangelI try to write as in canon as possible (no Lee and Amanda getting together in season 1 or anything like that) the only thing is my stories usually end up darker than what we would ever see on the show. Also, when I write, I ... dont really have an idea where the story is going to go. Like ... I just let it take me where it's going to take me. I have found that at least for me, the stories always turn out better when I "stay out of their way", so to speak. I have my first SMK story posted on FF.net and it has gotten decent reviews and a lot of follows, so I guess I am doing something right haha.
