Ok, I didn't know how to name this thread, but today I was watching old interviews from BB & KJ and I noticed a couple of time she was wearing the same outfit as in the show here : she wears the red blouse and sweater or whatever you call it (gilet in french) as in the tag of J'Edgar's Ghost And then again with this one : She wears the same shirt/sweater as in J'Edgar's Ghost ... (and thinking of it she keeps changing in this one ....) Didn't they have a wardrobe ? Was she wearing her own clothes ? Or was she "borrowing" ?

I remember this from watching the show in the 80s, I figured she just wore a lot of her own clothes on SMK. It's interesting that now, everyone has a stylist to dress them even for interviews. (I need one .) Hope all is going well Ralx!

And didn't she wear this one to the Emmy's one year, complete with the flower in her hair? I wouldn't have thought that the sweaters and shirts would necessarily be KJ's style... I always just assumed that it was for show publicity--connect the fans with the show, type of thing... There's also the possibility that some of the interviews were actually during a workday and they were taking a break. I can't see BB's outfits clearly enough to see whether they're from the show--but I know that Lee wasn't wearing a grey jacket and striped shirt when Amanda was wearing the stripey jersey in JEG (he was wearing a red and blue tartan shirt and his dark blue jacket with the gold collar edging)... shrugI know I've seen another interview with her somewhere where she's actually on the SMK set, sitting in one of those tall director's chairs, wearing that same stripey jersey. Can't remember where I saw it, though.

Even if she was at work, I can't believe she allowed herself to be interviewed in that stripy abomination . That white dress I would definitely have worn to the Emmy's (If I had ever been invited to the Emmy's and looked as good as she did ). I just love it.

If KJ wore some of her own clothes....well what implications does that have for Martha Smith?!!!

If KJ wore some of her own clothes....well what implications does that have for Martha Smith?!!! Wah hah hah hah hah! Good one, Jenbo! I still think it was a publicity thing... I really don't see KJ wearing things like that stripey jersey otherwise. You know, one thing that always struck me was how different KJ looked as Amanda King than she did IRL before/after SMK or in other shows. The hair lightened and curled--Amanda King signature. I really want to read KJ's biography when it's finally published--and maybe some of these questions will be answered then...

I want to read it too (still saying it will be published in Feb 2015). After watching ralx34's clip on the Emmy's, this one about KJ's directing of the Pharoah's Engineer came up I suspect it may be quite different from the usual. BG's biography (admittedly not an autobiography and published after her death) took some swipes at KJ - I wonder if KJ will manage to avoid this?

I'm going to preface this with: I haven't read BG's whole biography, only excerpts (so I probably shouldn't comment), but her comments about Kate's illness really turned me off in a big way. Then again, maybe the comments were slanted by the writer, who knows? I just know the comments really bothered me... I'm not holding my breath waiting for KJ's biography, though... the date has been bumped a few times already. Oh, and interesting clip, Learjet. Sounds like BB was maybe going to direct an episode(s?) in Season 4, but never did, although KJ did direct again: Unfinished Business.

I actually love how she directs (not that I have any technical expertise in this area at all) - she is great at creating atmosphere and tension, and I really enjoy how she uses colour, and light/dark to create mood. This is probably why I enjoy the Pharoah's Engineer more than a lot of people. Also Unfinished Business, although that has other more obvious charms ("My Amanda" - note from Learjet: where's a nice swoon emoticon when I need one!!!) It has been saying publication date Feb 2015 for about six months across a variety of sources (not that I've been checking )

Good memory KC! I can't believe she was even wearing the flower to go with the outfit! sheesh!!!
And Good find with the video Ralx! [Welcome to Nedlindger's!!] it's very blurry huh.. and KJ's voice goes croaky.. love it! BB seems very smooth!
I loved the idea of this thread Ralx.. during breaks in my work (have a bit of a full on load at the moment) I enjoy switching off my brain and just scanning the net for KJ fashion tidbits.. I've found a few!
For now..I'll just share this one.. The source is: www.gettyimages.com.au/detail/news-photo/actress-jaclyn-smith-and-actress-kate-jackson-attend-news-photo/187005514
I knew there were pics of KJ in her pink pyjamas in real life out there somewhere!!! thank goodness there is no video!
Here's a snip of the image.. it's for sale so it's watermarked.. but I just want to post it so you can see the outfits and then we'll all just forget about this image shall we?! tee hee....
I take comfort from the fact that the 80s was able to make even Jackyln Smith look ridiculous (I previously thought this was impossible! she's so gorgeous!) .. I think her outfit is even worse than KJ's!!! and that's saying something!!
LOL this is fun! bye!

Eeewwwww so happy I was a little girl in the 80's, well thinking of it my mother must have wore this kind of clothes (and so do I ....), but this pink thing is just ... wow, no word to describe it, lucky she wears it only in one episode, the one I almost never watch by the way

This is the first chance I've had to visit Ned's for a while, and only here for a brief visit today but must say this... Ezibuy and parachute skirts are both heinous abominations of which we shall speak of no more. (Although I suspect we haven't seen the last of the parachutes skirts in JWWM.)
