Hi folks, just a question, is anyone, or everyone, going to the 30th anniversary celebration? What's it all like? Questions questions questions.....

I wish I was going but sadly aside from the cost (flights to US etc) I am not sure I can justify leaving hubby, kids and assorted pets behind. i shall have to live vicariously through others that are going are you going Jule?

I am not sure, it's an expense that I wasn't planning on. I still have a week to figure it out, right? And I have always been a plan ahead king of gal.....

You know, I used to threaten to sell em all, but alas, no one ever took me seriously! Couldn't get takers anyway, HAH! Maybe the pets could look after the kids and hubby....?!?

I don't think I could go to this even if it were held where I live. I don't think I'd be able to form a coherent thought much less speak if I were standing in front of Lee Stetson. Add to that the fact that my face would be bright red from all the, ahem, pics I've had of Lee in his tux and such burned into my brain. I'd probably pass out on the spot if he actually opened his mouth to speak. That or I'd just start following him around waiting for him to read the phone book or something. Lee is a real person, right?

I would be there in a heartbeat if KJ and BB were both going to be there... but to just see BB? Nah. They were a team... (Of course, living as [relatively] close as I do, I probably should go, 'cos in theory I'll be back in Kiwiland if/when they have a 35th... it just seems wrong not to see both of them. But we all know that I'm kinda odd.)

That fact that I will realise Lee is a fantasy and one that BB can't live up to and be a massive disappointment

That fact that I will realise Lee is a fantasy and one that BB can't live up to and be a massive disappointment I have to admit Jenbo, that's one of the reasons I hesitate too. And besides, Lee is a real person, (of course he is Bjo!) and I'd wonder why BB was trying to impersonate an aging spy. Just saying, got mixed feelings here.

I am in the same boat as all of you, I like my fantasy bubble and don't want to burst it, sorry BB.

Ahhh, yes, no one is as handsome as Lee Stetson. Not even Bruce Boxleitner. Anyone remember the line from Sabrina (Julia Ormond/Harrison Ford version)? Sabrina says, "No one is as handsome as David. Not even David." I totally get it!!! Yes, I am very afraid of disappointment and my bubble bursting. I'm afraid I wouldn't like BB and then where would that leave me??? Plus Lee is married to Amanda, so I can hardly go and get excited to meet him, right? I need to make myself a t-shirt that says "I'm jealous of Amanda" and see if anyone gets it! LOL!!! What would your t-shirt say??? Maybe I need to start that thread....

Sabrina!!!! I loved that movie! Sometimes I wonder why I liked the haircut on Sabrina but not on Amanda. I would have to give that T shirt idea some thought. I like your though.

Yes, Sabrina is one of my favorite movies! I love Julia Ormond in that movie. I wish I had her voice. You know, I never thought about her haircut being the same as Amanda's. Ha!! It definitely works for Sabrina. There's another t-shirt idea...or meme idea. "My hair looks better on Sabrina". Oh, but wait! That could get confusing with KJ's Sabrina - but not really...her hair was straight! I guess only the truly obsessed SMK fan wouldn't be confused by it! LOL! Ok, ok, really, I'm off to do the laundry....step away from the computer....

I won't be able to go, either. It sure sounds like fun, but finances just won't allow it.
I understand the whole BB v. Lee thing. I don't mind seeing BB in other roles, though. I really like him as John Sheridan in Babylon 5, which I discovered last year. My youngest has really gotten into the show lately, too. She started watching with me early season 3, so when we finish we'll start over. (Thanks, netflix.) Lee is not Sheridan, which is why I like it so much. (I gotta admit, he flashes that Lee smile once in a while, though. Whooooo)

I wish I had got into Babylon 5. I don't want to pay for discs in case it doesn't float my boat.....not sure my Netflix has it one. Will have to investigate.

Jenbo, there are a few funny clips from Babylon 5 on youtube, which is actually what I first used to check out the show. Then I googled it and found an episode or two on a website which unfortunately no longer has them. So I had a chance to view some of the show before I decided to really watch. We hope to get at least one season on DVD for Christmas.
