Welcome to a new thread about the terms we use at JWWM which aims to: 1) Explain the terms to new blog "walkers" 2) Celebrate our JWWM-specific SMK sub-culture I've moved it to the SMK section as this makes more sense (brain malfunction yesterday : I thought it would be fun to make a list of these words, who came up with them and their origins, and what they mean. I'm going to start the list, with an example. Please can people add definitions and further terms. An example: Nonsemble: Initiator: Happycamper Origin: Lee's ensemble in the early part of "A Lovely Little Affair" was unpleasant to behold - that tie/shirt/combo was not an ensemble, it was a nonsemble Meaning: Unfortunate and ill-matching combination of clothes Other JWWM terms: Amanda-band Amanda-ramble guyliner rabbit-hole (with virtual wine and chocolate) tupperware helmet (swoon, thud) drool bucket swoony hair don't Fashion police (arrest) Vehicle Patrol Tie Patrol Please add meanings or add more terms!

whoooo hooooo!! this looks like fun!! I'll use this as a carrot to get done what I need to do today - and responding to this can be my reward!! [though I'm not sure if I have the correct answer, maybe together we can work it out!] Great idea Learjet! BTW- Don't forget Amanda's ear buttons!
Plus there was the fabulous line of Cindy D's about what someone did in their cornflakes that morning to put them in a bad mood that's been used a few times!!
Anyone feel free to tackle all these and I'll have a go later today and we can see if we have similar answers! byeeeeee!! Back later!

So here are my answers to the words you've thought of Learjet - I'll include a disclaimer that I am not 100% certain I am correct, this is all only my guesses - and please forgive me if I get something wrong or overlook someone's genius!! here goes:
Nonsemble:
Initiator: Happycamper
Origin: Lee's ensemble in the early part of "A Lovely Little Affair" was unpleasant to behold - that tie/shirt/combo was not an ensemble, it was a nonsemble
Meaning: Unfortunate and ill-matching combination of clothes
Iwsod writes: Yep I agree this was Happy Camper.. I suggested a non-ensemble.. which is lame.. lol but happy camper took it to a genius level
Other JWWM terms:
Iwsod writes- I think I'll leave most of the definitions to someone else - so I don't do everything! lol..
Amanda-band
I think BJo is responsible for this one- the first time I remember reading this is in her stats posts on JWWM. Can anyone confirm this? Amanda-bands are the head bands Amanda wore in season one.
Amanda-ramble oh dear.. I have no idea.. I'm thinking this one has been around since I joined the smk fandom back in 2008.. so sorry I don't know it's origin.
guyliner Again! I can't attribute this one sorry - guy liner has been a saying for a long time.. at least in my world lol.. so I don't think anyone in smk fandom made it up.. and am thinking I definitely didn't think it up!
rabbit-hole (with virtual wine and chocolate)
I think this was Jule wasn't it??
tupperware I am guessing this was Morley's little creation this metaphor.. Umm can anyone confirm this?? and can the creator give us a run down of what the Tupperware is about?
helmet (swoon, thud)
Helmet- I am guessing Helmet is a jule creation - necessary for all the swooning that goes on when she watches Lee Stetson!
Swoon - gosh I know I didn't create the word or anything.. but I don't remember it being used in relation to Lee before I joined the fandom in 2008 - I found the 'thud' swoon emoticon that's doing the rounds on the internet and (eek sounds like I"m tooting my own horn here) I am thinking I introduced it but was all taken up very quickly by smk fandom
thud- I think this came from the swoon emoticon that I found.. this one: (I've used this one also: ) he was eventually labelled 'thuddy' but I don't think I thought that up.. I think it was maybe BBXFan or Jenvan over on YUKU years and years ago now (I'm not on yuku anymore.. and I don't think they are either)
drool bucket Oh dear.. I have been using this since I joined smk fandom.. have no idea where it came from.. it might have been me.. but then.. it might not have - oh dear! I don't feel confident enough to claim this one! but when I first started in smk fandom I was a huge fan of drool emoticons! lol.. (nowadays I don't tend to use so many emoticons - just because they are time consuming to use too often I have a little collection: Ahh brings back memories!!
swoony I think this was me.. when I brought up swoon! swoony.. and occasionally when I was particularly overcome.. I could say swoony swoon swoon!!
hair don't
I have no idea if this had been thought up before. But I remember thinking I don't want to call Amanda's new haircut a hair do.. because you shouldn't do it!! so it's a hair don't. Maybe me? but then.. maybe it has been a saying for years. I don't know!
Fashion police (arrest) Ahhh well the fashion police have been around in popular culture for years.. so I certainly didn't invent it - but I don't remember the fashion police making arrests before I came to the smk yuku board all those years ago.. and I went off and found a few fashion police badges..
I found them randomly on the internet.. feel free to copy them. I don't own them that's for sure! I know I"m not the only one to make an arrest ( which is fanastic because the workload is full on )
Vehicle Patrol KC?
Tie Patrol KC?? Was 'Patrol' a bit of a spin off from the fashion police? that KC came up with?
Okay I'll finish up here.. I haven't given many definitions.. this is just my recollections..
by the way 'walkers' would be your term Learjet- and I like it!!!
byeeee and look forward to hearing what others make of things.. this has been an awesome trip down memory lane.. and I am sure there are many many more terms we can add to the list!!

LOL I did find smelling salts once - but I wasn't sure if I had actually ever used them online..
Here goes:
(it's scratch and sniff )
[again, I don't own it.. just randomly found it on the net!]

Yes, Iwsod got it-- Tie Patrol and Vehicle Patrol were "spinoffs" of Fashion Police. Well, actually, Tie Patrol was a spinoff of Fashion Police, and I think came about 'cos Iwsod was wondering about the re-wearing of certain ties; Vehicle Patrol became a spinoff of Tie Patrol. Tie Patrol and Vehicle Patrol haven't made any arrests yet, but they're watching and waiting... and they have documented some bloopers, busted some tie-stealing baddies, and called Billy out for re-wearing his ties. (I'm not telling how many warnings will be given before arrests are made.)

Yes, the Tupperware was mine. I think I was referring to how Amanda and Lee organized the conscious and subconscious feelings. Amanda has hers all neatly stacked and put away, organized so much so that she can open the closet door and they all remain nicely in place where she put them. Lee, on the other hand, may have an appearance of order on the surface, but behind those surface containers there is a jumbled mess. I think right around the end of season two and beginning of season three, he had better keep that closet door well and closed if he doesn't want to be confronted with every emotional reality that he has been trying to tuck away. I am thinking that that certain scene we are all waiting for in the next episode would be a really good example of the tupperware closet door opening a crack and it all come tumbling out... It was something like that

I am not sure where I got the rabbit hole from, maybe Jestress? Of course I added my favorites to it, I mean, chocolate, wine, fuzzy robe and SMK =all good! The helmet was probably me, from my day as a demented teacher with students whole had a variety of ailments, thus needed a helmet. A normal person would think of bike riding, American football, motorcycle helmets. Not me, but then I've never claimed to be normal

The wine and chocolate are crucial, I find. Something about wine, chocolate and SMK at the end of the day. Yup... life is good!

Didn't we post the swoon helmet at one point? I'll go see if I can find it... Edited to add: Rats! I can't seem to find it. Maybe Iwsod can help? I seem to remember one version of it looking like Dark Helmet's helmet... ... (And when was it? Sometime last year, right?)

Beautiful badges KC! Hey KC, the only time I can think of where Dark Helmet was mentioned was in this post of yours: nedlindgers.proboards.com/post/1068 [in the episode order thread, second page..] Hmm sounds like we need a swoon helmet emoticon!! Does Amanda or Francine EVER wear a helmet?! (I mean other than their hairdo?!)

Oh. It was actually here at Ned's, huh? Oops. My bad. Obviously my memory is total cr*p... I still like both of them as swoon helmet candidates! And, in answer to your question... yes, both Amanda and Francine wear helmets--at the same time, at Station One: Remember that? Or is A Class Act too painful to remember at all? (Ugh.)

LOL. I just tried to make a Dark Helmet-style swoon helmet but it just looks like long black hair and glasses (the glasses don't show well): Hmmm... maybe it needs the drool added from the drool emotie: Not tonight... too hot to keep playing with emoties tonight!
