To follow-up on the discussion on JWWM, here's make take on Amanda and Lee's myer's briggs types
Lee: ISTP
Amanda: ENFJ
I found the middle two characteristics the easiest to guess for each them and the last one the hardest. I choose the P/J based on the overall description of ISTP and ENFJ, while I based the others on their behaviour.
In the interests of full disclosure, I've tested once as an ISFJ (at 16) and several more times as an ISTJ in the intervening 24 years. It is a pretty accurate description of me but I'm just not such a cold-hearted robot as the description make the descriptions out to be.

I had a lecture once where we were given the MBTI.. but I didn't get to finish it.. or score it.. and never got back to it. so I haven't actually done it! lol! LOL.. can we go one letter at a time? (sorry, I know I tend to be an organiser!) I found a summary of the test on wikipedia that is quite cool and could make this discussion simpler and easier.. it's in the top right hand corner of the Wikipedia page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myers-Briggs_Type_Indicator#mediaviewer/File:MyersBriggsTypes.pngIt asks a few questions. Maybe we can use those.. to come up with the first letter E (Extrovert) or I (Introvert)- we ask: Are you outwardly or inwardly focused? What do you think?

So learjet you think Amanda is Introverted and Lee is Extroverted? I can see bits in both of them! but.. if we had to go with an overall tendency.. okay..
I'd guess umm... Both are Introverted! (this btw is based on how I see the whole show - not that I'll be able to discuss detail beyond where the walk is)
Anyone else?
Oh poor BJo! maybe you should shut us down!!! sorry we are tempting you!! I would just have to switch off my email and close the webpage so I could concentrate on my assignments!!

Okay, learjet, we were very close - only differing in the E/I for both. Here is how I had them:
Amanda - INFJ Lee - ESTP Scarecrow - ESTJ
I'll hold off explaining the reasoning on the whole right now and do it one letter at a time as iwsod suggests. That'll probably make it easier to keep up with in a thread anyway.
Oh, and I was right...I'm an ISTJ also. The only category I do not score 90% of that characteristic is in the E/I category. And that's a slight change. The first time I took an MBTI, I was 100% I.

I found our emails and sent them to BJo. I bet she is making up a chart to analyse them right now (cheeky of me, huh?). We actually did one for Lee and one for Scarecrow... We had one for Amanda as well. I don't think we got to a definitive decision actually. It will be fun to see what happens here at Ned's.

That's interesting.. you tested Lee and Scarecrow?! whwhahahaaaa....
So Morley you and BJo differed on the first Letter??
Who thought what?
I struggled most with picking one for Lee.. but found when I thought of his character for all 4 seasons - I went with Introvert [and to be honest, introverts are much more common than extroverts... and many we automatically see as Extroverted, are in reality introverted.. so this has probably coloured my choice]

Actually, I had a different outcome: ESTP/ISTP? for Scarecrow/Lee? I do think that Lee would be an I. And I think he would be a P. But that will be another interesting discussion.

iwsod, here is my nutshell understanding of the E/I component:
1. Where you derive your energy from - from being around people, you're an E. Alone time to recharge your batteries is more I.
2. Do you prefer many friendships/relationships with people or are you one to have a select few friends that you are able to have a deep relationship with.
3. I's also tend to be territorial (I am that for sure).
4. Another component - are you external or internal focused.
Here was my reasoning to Morley in the email for Lee/Scarecrow and their E/I - Lee as Scarecrow does seem to be much more of an E than an I but I think Lee is an E also - In ROTP he says something about being fidgety and he wanted to go out - I think he wanted to be around people but couldn't because he was supposed to be dead. Was he Lee or Scarecrow in that scene? Not sure, but I think it would be true for either. iwsod - S4 alert!! **His great Christmas Eve in SGABNB was at a bar - again, out around people and activity. I think it was more than just being on the job and ignoring Christmas. Sorry, iwsod, that second one is from S4. Alert over**
For Amanda, I see her interacting with people just fine, but I just get the sense that she needs her alone time to recharge her batteries. She may read or have a cup of tea or clean the house or something. She says in one of the S2 (I think) eps that she really hates it when she has to mingle. And in **iwsod Alert** JEGhost, she really is not enjoying the bar scene, whereas E Lee (IMO) is. **alert over** I think there are other reasons for Amanda not enjoying what she is doing, but I do think she is not an innate mingler, hence one reason for calling her an I. Amanda also doesn't seem to have a lot of friends - this could be because of her job - but get the sense that she is quite content in her deep and growing friendship with Lee and doesn't need much more beyond her mother and kids.
Okay, I'll stop there.

Rofl yeah sorry BJo I skipped the bits that are ahead. don't mind me.. what you and Morley say makes sense and I thought the same things - I think at the start of the show Lee is portrayed as an Extrovert .. but my the end of the show.. Lee has really turned out to be an Introvert - maybe this is to do with Lee's journey and the whole scarecrow persona thing he has going on - which is why it's so interesting you rated both!

I thought the world was 30% introverts and 70% extroverts?? A lot of people think I'm an extravert for example but I'm an introvert who loves people (and finds them endlessly fascinating) but in small doses and only a couple at a time. I also wasn't sure if Amanda was an E or an I. I went for E but I'm open to I as well.
BTW BJo, I scored the maximum for J'ness. Can make me a little hard to live with at times...
And i'm trying to finish the revisions on my thesis this morning. Is taking me a long, long time. And is very dull.

I think Lee was always out and about at nightclubs, restaurants etc etc because he found it easier not being alone with himself. Maybe that's why he appears so natural and content (and "energised") when he can be himself and enjoy his introversion in season 4?
