OK, I give it - I want to see if you all really prefer Tom Selleck. Moustache and Ferrari over clean-shaven and Corvette. And a few other thrown in because I can

It's so not about the Ferrari... it's all about the moustache and the dimples and the crinkley smiley eyes... swoon-thud

LOL! Even as a non-moustache fain, I admit to feeling rather dizzy looking at this. (but the foam would get trapped in the moustache...)

Couldn't make up my mind, so I chose Billy. XD I love Tom Selleck - not just as Magnum. Has anyone here seen the Jesse Stone movies? Love 'em! And I sure hope there'll be more cos I really like that Jesse Stone guy just as much as I like Magnum or Scarecrow. It's really a tie between those two.

Okay, I admit it, I'm a MacGyver geek! It is just sooo cool how he can put things together and make it work. I do like Lee, he'd be my 2nd choice. And, yes, I do have the first season of MacGyver at home. I'm adding to that collection soon.

Noooooo you can't make me choose between Lee and Magnum. Sorry I vote for both for different reasons. Lee.....he carries off a suit sooooo well. He's not been beaten with the ugly stick. He's sweet under that tough spy exterior. Magnum.....the way he smiles. He can get away with wearing fairly short shorts. He lives in Hawaii and drives a Ferrari.

My husband actually reminds me of MacGyver (can make something out of anything and solve problems from anything) which he thinks is insulting. I really should get hold of the dvds.

I'm probably alone in hating the mustache. It's not so much that I'm completely opposed to mustaches, but when I was in elementary school, I actually had a p.e. teacher with a Tom Selleck style mustache. Considering how bad I am at sports, it brings back traumatic memories. (Jestress shudders.) It's not that I don't like Magnum PI, it's just that I'm afraid he can never be cool enough to completely wipe out the memories.
When it comes to mustached detectives, I think I might have to go the classic route and stick with Poirot. Now that I think about it, Billy also has a mustache, doesn't he? For some reason, I don't really think about his.

Well, it seems I am in the manority but I absolutely adore Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele- he's as much of a swoon thud for me as Lee Stetson. Such a difficult and delicious choice to have to make learjet! Here's a lovely photo:

This is so not fair to have to choose in this manner. There was a progression for me as to the swoony-ness factor of these men and it's so hard to say one over the other. i either saw or have seen them in so many other things and that just ramps up the swoon factor. Isn't their some way we could get an amalgamation of all the best parts? That would be so wonderful. Remington Steele appeals to me in that suave, smooth, and debonair way that he has and his penchant for old movies, which I love. MacGyver has that rare combination of being a hunky nerd, smart, handsome and handy all at once. Magnum and his cheekiness and self-deprecating ways get to me. He has that twinkle in his eye and the glib way that you will so quickly forgive.
But as I think about it, my undying loyalty has to go with Lee Stetson. While I appreciate the attributes of these other fine contestants none of them has made me swoon, sigh heavily, and daydream as much as Lee Stetson. I cannot even express why he is the whole package, he just is. The man is just smokin' hot inside and out. And if I have to think anymore about it, my computer as well as the rest of me is just going to overload.

I'm actually pretty divided on which one is my favorite. If we're going on looks, I think Lee and Steele are the two best-looking (at least, think I so, although it's been a long time since I've seen McGyver). Lee seems more physically daring than Steele, although Steele does his share of risk-taking and actually is a good fist-fighter. Steele seems more sympathetic sometimes with people who are in trouble than Lee, probably because he's had such a troubled past himself, although Lee becomes a much more caring person throughout the series. They both have their share of relationship issues, but it's different for each of them. At first, Lee doesn't seem to want a steady relationship with anyone, but when he settles on Amanda, he's whole-hearted and mature about the relationship. Steele makes it clear that he's interested in Laura from the very beginning, but they tend to be kind of on/off about it (mostly due to Laura's early insistence on not mixing business with pleasure) and they also play immature games with each other (although I think Laura is equally to blame for that). As for investigative skills, they're both good at going undercover (although I think I prefer Steele's ability to imitate different accents). I think Steele is better at getting information subtly (Lee is better at direct interrogation), and Lee is better with weapons (Steele doesn't like using a gun). Of course, this is just my impression. Overall, I think they're pretty equal. Lee is an educated and highly trained government agent, and Steele is a man of mystery who came up from the streets, has learned through hard experience, and still appreciates the finer things in life.
Right now, I'm actually leaning toward Billy. He's an older, married guy, which doesn't make for romantic fantasies, but I like the way he tries to influence Lee to thinking about a permanent relationship and how he is righteously indignant when he finds out that someone was cheating on his wife. He apparently came up through the ranks as a field agent and survived in a risky profession to become the boss, and he does occasionally do field work in spite of having been behind a desk for awhile. He's an interesting person, and I'm kind of curious about his history.
I may change my mind later and vote for one of the others, though. I noticed that my vote isn't permanent until the poll closes. I don't suppose I can vote for three people at once, can I?
