I found a transcript for a Phil Donahue appearance! it's Melissa Sue Anderson is Melissa Gilbert? Anyway here is the link: www.maestravida.com/weinwalk/phil.htmlIt's dated feb 1984 So weird to hear them talk of Little house on the prairie and BB and MG weren't together yet! He's sitting next to her, and talking about his wife.. wow.. headspin.. it's crazy how life can turn out! BB doesn't get to stay much .. his agent talks more! [so much for BB having lots to say.. think that reviewer had an axe to grind with BB] I find the transcript of this show to be pretty superficial and dull! Phil Donahue does way too much talking.. all the talk about how beautiful they are is a bit awk-ward!!!! They even show a clip of smk - from Dead Ringer.. and then.. they don't even talk about it! LOL! If anyone reads this let us know what you think! I found this show really bizarre!

IWSOD, Melissa Sue Anderson played the sister to Melissa Gilbert's character. Melissa Sue Anderson was Mary, Melissa Gilbert was Laura.
Yes, Phil Donahue was sometimes very much a superficial talk show. At least, that's my opinion.

Ohhh thanks Debilyn! I thought it was really freaky having BB and MG in a transcript like that! phew!!
I think the annoyingness was exasperated by it being a transcript- without all the drama of the live audience etc.
But I did find it interesting seeing how little BB said and comparing it with the narky article about the show.. LOL!

This one I've seen before... but it's a big one and a good one.. Called 'This hunk has a problem getting the girl' from tv guide, Jan 1986 www.maestravida.com/weinwalk/tvgjan86.htmlTalks alot about passionflower - not of interest to me.. meh! BB nearly died in singapore choking on a potato?!!!! 'After just a couple of weeks rest and relaxation at home, Boxleitner--his throat still scratchy from the near-choking--is back at work on the Scarecrow set. He spends a couple of hours shooting two scenes in which he and Jackson meet for dinner at an elegant restaurant, then retreats to his trailer, exhausted. He was out uncharacteristically late last night at a movie premiere, and the lack of sleep has taken the edge off his normally animated conversational style.' -what scene do you think that is?? Whoa... the article says: This season, partly at his request, a new character has appeared as Lee Stetson's old girl friend who now works at the United Nations. In addition, the simmering relationship between Lee and Amanda has shown signs of heating up. But the possibility of their ever falling in love will probably always remain in possibility--no more, no less. "That's one of the things makes the show work," says Jackson, herself part owner of the series. "YouÕve got to want to see them get together." I've heard a few different takes on who this 'girfriend was suppose to be.. another article said she's a longtime secret girlfriend. I wonder how much of all this is true. If I find the article I'll post a link here. Oh yes.. the compulsory let's talk about how hard KJ is to get along with ugh.. Bye!

And.. another BB interview.. 'Think Lee Stetson's Great? Bruce Has Him Beat!' www.maestravida.com/weinwalk/Better84.htmlno offense but I prefer Lee stetson anyday I note in this interview BB mentions Kate's torn ligaments.. I thought I read somewhere she hurt it twice in season 1.. and I am actually thinking that maybe I had the episode order wrong putting Sudden Death so early.. and the reason her foot was so bad in that was because she hurt it again, worse.. you know?? BB says she had trouble with it all season in this interview.. I'll keep an eye out for more info.. but now I'm starting to doubt myself! Byeee

Interesting interviews, ISWOD. It's nice to see that his interviews are pretty consistent. It tends to bother me when a celebrity appears one way in one interview and different in another. It doesn't happen a lot, but I have seen it happen.

Don't doubt yourself. I like it that the SD kiss comes before SAAB and SBTB. It gives them something to think about...

Very true Debilyn, both KJ and BB may change over the years, but they are still pretty consistent! Awh thanks Morley, but I know it's very possible I could get it wrong! but glad you like it the way it is! Okay well here is a KJ article.. dated october 1985 so about the time of filming burn out/ doa/yodtwice kind of thing.. the article is from wanda's archived kate Jackson listing.. it's from Good Housekeeping and titled ' No Time for Love' At this point KJ has divorced her second husband - poor KJ! so sad!!! Now here is a question for you all - what date was she divorced?? and.. did she get her hair cut short in real life as her second marriage ended???!!!!!!!
This article underlines how much an hourly, weekly tv show demands of your time, your life - and KJ may have seen it as costing her her marriage.. maybe she cut her hair short to reduce the hour earlier hair and make up she had to put up with but BB didn't??? The article talks about how basically she has not time for love or a life.. oh and I had to laugh at the mention of KJ not being a 'traditional helpless magnolia blossom of the Old South' given I just mentioned Amanda might be a bit of a steel magnolia's type over on the blog! [Amanda bites-TFT] Oh yes!!! the article doesn't fail to mention how Kate can be 'difficult and temperamental when incompetence surfaces, production falters, or when a principle is at stake' - when you are giving your life to something and it demands so much of you? I can see how it would be infuriating to see others work on it in a slapdash way. Interesting.. KJ says she plans on playing Amanda King another three years.. and then she wanted a break and then to find a half hour show.. soooo guess she was only will ing to work up to 1988 anyway! okay must get into my day's work here.. byeee!

I cracked up at: " As a matter of fact, Sam would rather watch the A-Team than watch dad on Scarecrow!" He let his four-year-old son watch the A-Team?!?!?!?

Hey, the A-Team wasn't a bad show. It was a lot more "wholesome" than some of the shows on TV at the time. (Everyone liked "Mr. T," including one of the King household, I believe.)

I vaguely remember seeing the A-Team when I was about that age. I'm not sure how much of the plot I really understood at the time. I don't think I've seen the show since. All I really remember about the show now is that there were car chases and explosions and Mr. T basically being Mr. T.

I wasn't allowed to watch it as a child. But I have watched it now with my teenage sons. It isn't too bad. Murdoch is my favorite. I think I watch it for him.
